This picture is not what it seems.
At first glance, you might assume I am celebrating my 47th birthday. I want to be honest and share that I have already done that a few years back.
Instead, I have two Bundt cakes for two important milestones in my life.
The number four candle is to celebrate the 4th birthday of my Depth Book and the seven one is for the 7th anniversary of my Depth Podcast.
I launched my podcast back in August 2019, and I cannot believe that I have had the joy of talking with over 250 authors and other amazing Christians and sharing their powerful God stories on my podcast.
Saying yes to God and starting my podcast was a big leap of faith for me back in 2019.
I remember I did not think I was techy enough. I almost let my fears keep me from God’s plan for me. It is wild to think what my life would look like if I had said no.
I would have missed so many God moments and stories that have bolstered my faith and hopefully my listener’s too!
Is God asking you to take a leap of faith?
Do you feel underqualified or not ___________________ enough to do it? (Please fill in the blank: strong enough, smart enough, have enough time… techy enough was my issue)
Oh friend, this is the very place God wants you to be.
He wants us to partner with Him!
When we fully surrender to God, He can help us overcome our fears and take the giant leaps He is asking us to do in faith.
If you feel His prompt, I encourage you to say yes!
I have loved the joy moments on the podcast! It truly has been a favorite part of my ministry. If you haven’t listened, I encourage you to check it out. I have included some of my favorite episodes below:
Depth Podcast Episode 219: Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy by Mark Vroegop (phenomenal book on lament that I highly recommend for anyone walking through grief).

Depth Podcast Episode 139: It’s Not Supposed To Be This Way by Lysa TerKeurst (super encouraging episode if you are walking through disappointment).

It is fun to celebrate milestones in your life, so thank you for allowing me to share more about the start of my podcast! For fun, here is a picture the first time I recorded back in 2019!

This photo is a personal favorite — it reminds me of my leap of faith. You may see a woman in headphones with a microphone, but I see a woman who had no idea what she was doing, but trusted God to guide her.
Do you feel God calling you to do something outside of your comfort zone? I pray you can say yes to God even if you don’t have all the answers.
God will lead you step by step as you surrender to Him!
Praying for you!
Love, Jodi
