When you feel deep sadness as you say goodbye

Interestingly, your mom and dad are there when you take your first breath. It is so heartbreaking to be there when they take their last.
Words cannot express the deep sadness as we said goodbye to my dad on May 22nd.
I know he is in the arms of Jesus! My dad had a strong faith and loved the Lord with all his heart! He introduced me to Jesus at a young age, and I am so grateful for his example of how to be a Christ follower.
In addition to being the best dad ever, I am so thankful for the incredible grandpa he was to my boys as well as a loving husband to my mom. He was also an amazing role model on how to be a Godly man, and he will be forever missed by our family!
My heart needs to grieve, so I will be taking time off from my ministry this summer.
When I lost my dear friend, Jeannie in 2016 and went through my divorce in 2014, I found healing and hope in reading Christian books as well as my Bible! This is my plan again- to dive deeper into my faith and see what God wants me to learn. I know this time of input is my best yes, and I look forward to sharing with you what God is teaching me in the midst of my pain when I return.
To honor my dad, I am resharing his words on the podcast.

He gave his wisdom and best advice as a father to 4 girls and a grandfather to 7 grandchildren for Father’s Day back in 2020. It is so special to hear his voice and listen to the encouragement he offers to help others dads live more intentionally. Check out Depth Podcast Episode 235.
I recommend listening to this episode alongside your spouse or if you are a single mom like I was for 10 years, there are still lots parenting nuggets in this episode for you as well! I believe parenting is the most rewarding and challenging job all at the same time, so I hope this episode encourages you along your parenting journey!
Thank you for allowing me grace and space to take time to grieve and process all the emotions.
I wish I could tell you that we just have to go through one heartbreak and then we could check off the box. But that is now how it works because I know God uses these heartbreaking circumstances to grow our roots deeper in Him and to chisel us into who He wants us to be!
I am going into a time of hidden growth with just God and me!
As I step back for a short time, I would love for you to pray for my family. My mom has dementia, so this adds another layer to the grief.
Thank you for lifting up my loved ones in prayer! God Bless You!
Love, Jodi
