One Word Challenge 2021
The same word kept appearing in my devotionals and in my books that I was reading. Have this ever happened to you?
Each New Year, I pick one word that I want to focus on. Instead of making resolutions, I choose a word that sums up who I want to be or how I want to live the following year. I have participated in this One Word Challenge for over 7 years now.
This year, my word for 2021 is Cultivate.
I love this definition of cultivate: “To foster the growth of something, to nourish something.” As I was reading, the word cultivate was paired up with worship, wisdom, a life of prayer, intentionality, connection, and joy. All of these spoke to me, and it was crystal clear that I want to foster growth in these areas.
My sister even made me a Christmas Ornament with my new word for 2021!
So, I am praying for God to use this word, Cultivate to grow me this next year!
In past years, I will sometimes chose a second word. However, after hearing all those phenomenal words that cultivate was paired with, I am going to focus on them as my secondary words.
What is your word for 2021?
I want to encourage you to choose a word for next year. Where does God want you to focus? I would love to hear your word and why you chose it, so please share in the comments below.
Love, Jodi
