Do You Wish You Were More Grateful or Content?

I could not believe the email was saying the exact same truth as the message at church.
Have you ever experienced this? Two different speakers sharing almost word for word the same teaching.
When this occurs, I have learned that God is asking me to pay attention to what is being said.
Friend, it just happened to me last week!
Our church has been doing a series on the book of Numbers, and one of the big themes is to stop complaining like the Israelites and instead remember all the God has done and be grateful.
Seems easy enough- right?
Not for me…. so I was in awe of God when another Chrisitan author (Barb Roose), not related at all to my church, sent over the exact same message about complaining and being thankful but in email form.
She talked about the same story in Numbers and quoted the same Scripture verses.
I knew immediately God was speaking to me.
So, I was so thankful when Barb recommended another Christian author’s solution. I am excited to share with you today about Melissa Spoelstra’s Contentment Project!
I give all the details about it on the Depth Podcast Episode 258. I actually recorded the episode last Monday, just after I read the email.
God was asking me to be vulnerable and share with you my struggles in real time! Not years later, after I had learned more and grown more.
So this is me- I struggle with complaining and not being content. Maybe you can relate.
If like me, you wish you were more grateful or content, then I would like to invite you to join me on this Gratitude Challenge.
All you need is a bracelet!
Based on Melissa’s Contentment Project When you find yourself complaining, you just switch the bracelet to the other wrist and say something you are grateful for.
This simple practice has been helping me become more aware of my bickering.
I love the phrase, “Self-awareness is the Key to Change.”
If you want to see change in this area of grumbling, we first must become aware so we can implement gratitude instead. The bracelet has been helping me do this!
Here is a link for all the details for Melissa Spoelstra’s 7- Day Contentment Project.
I would love for you to participate with me. I have already done one week, and it is working. I plan on continuing to wear my bracelet and break the bad habit of complaining.
So, I want to invite you to listen to the podcast where I give even more details and grab a bracelet.
Who wants to join me in practicing contentment and gratitude instead of complaining and grumbling?
Please let me know by sending me a message on social media. I would love for us to encourage one another.
Love, Jodi

Do you struggle with complaining? If you asked me a couple months ago, I would have said no, but recently our church did a study…
