5 Favorite Prayer Books to Change Your Life

Have you ever read a book and said, “Oh my goodness, I need to share this with everyone I know” because it is that good?
Or maybe you read a book where you literally underlined and highlighted more of the book than you didn’t?
I cannot wait to share with you some of my favorite prayer book recommendations!
1. *Breath as Prayer by Jennifer Tucker

This book was given to me for my birthday last year, and it has been life-changing to me. The subtitle is Calm Your Anxiety, Focus Your Mind and Renew Your Soul. First, the cover of the book is breath-taking and the inside graphics are beautiful too. But more than that, I love the amazing way it incorporates Scripture, Prayer, and Breathing into one book! Honestly, I used it every morning for my quiet time last year, and I loved it! I probably have bought over ten copies to give to friends for their birthday. To learn more about this book, check out Depth Podcast Episode 215 where I highlighted this book last summer.
2. *Prayer Starters by Suzie Eller

Do you struggle with what to pray during hard times? I love that Suzie has written a book to help you especially when you don’t know what to say. Each prayer starter is based on Scripture and full of wisdom! Honestly, this book has been changing my life as I used it as my quiet time back at the beginning of 2023. To learn more about this amazing book, check out Depth Podcast Episode 158. It is a very vulnerable episode– Suzie cries, I cry… there are just some tender moments and lots of wisdom from Suzie. You are going to walk away with so much truth.
3. *Praying the Scriptures for Your Life by Jodie Berndt

Have you ever thought about praying Scripture over your life– taking Bible Verses and using them as your prayer? You could pray for yourself, your kids, your family, or your loved ones. I think this is such a great idea which is why I love this prayer book by Jodie Berndt. To learn more about it, check out Depth Podcast Episode 106 where Jodie not only she shows us how to turn Bible Verses into prayers, but she also has such great wisdom for moms. I cannot wait for you to hear the truth and advice she offers.
4. *The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson
I read this book back in 2017 and once again, a friend gave it to me for my birthday. I am telling you—this was one of those life changing books. I cannot wait for you to hear more why it is one of the best books I have read on prayer. Check out Depth Podcast Episode 164 where I dive deeper into it and share some of my favorite parts of the book.

5. *Draw the Circle by Mark Batterson
This book is a 40 Day Prayer Challenge that I have read multiple times. The first time I read the book was during the 40 days of Lent. I share more about that in Depth Podcast Episode 120—ideas for Lent. The second time was when I prayed over my book, Depth: Growing Through Heartbreak to Strength before it released in 2022. The final time was when I prayed for God to bring a strong Christian man into my life back in 2023. All three times, I surrendered to God and prayed for 40 days using Mark’s book as a guide. I highly recommend this book!
