41 Will Come
Are you in a season of waiting? Is life hard and you want to give up? What if your “41” is just around the corner?
You probably heard about the significance of the number 40 in the Bible; it represents a time of waiting or testing. But I love how Chuck Tate points out the significance of 41 in his book, *41 Will Come. Let me share a couple examples:
- “Noah built the ark and it rained for 40 days and 40 nights. Day 41 came and the rain stopped.
- After the Exodus, the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. Year 41 came, and a new generation entered the Promised Land.
- For 40 days, Goliath bullied and taunted Israel, just begging someone to come fight him. Day 41 came, and David stepped up and slew the giant.
- After being baptized in the Jordan River, Jesus fasted in the desert for 40 days and was tempted by the devil. Day 41 came, the devil fled, and Jesus launched his monumental ministry.”
The breakthrough happens on “41”! The rain stops, the Promised Land is inhabited, the giant falls, the ministry begins…
Friends, what is your personal 41? What breakthrough are you waiting for? Are you praying for healing for a loved one or marital restoration? Are you asking God to open a door to ministry or for a new job? Perhaps you are praying for unity in our nation?
Just like God helped David slay Goliath, God wants to help you have victory over your giant. Chuck points out in his book, that David and the soldiers both heard the same words from Goliath’s mouth.
The soldiers reacted in fear with silence, but David reacted in faith with action.
Let me ask you, how are you reacting to your giant? How are you responding to the doubters that are taunting your dream or breakthrough?
Are you backing down in silence like the soldiers or are you running toward your giant with faith like David?
Let’s run with faith like David knowing God is on our side. David did not listen to his doubters: his brothers, Saul, or the army. He knew God was bigger than anything standing in his way. Do we believe that too?
Friends, let’s invite God into our struggle and believe He is bigger than any obstacle. Let’s run in faith and remember our 41 Will Come!
Love, Jodi
