California is on Fire- Please Pray!

This fire is just a little too close to home.

Three dogs, my nephew, sister and her husband arrived at my house last night at 9pm. Their home could be along the path of this raging fire so the fire fighters issued a voluntary evacuation in their area.

Starting on Monday, this local fire began with a vengeance. In just a day, it spread over 4000 acres. Living across the street from a park with a view of the Saddleback Mountain, many people have come to get a closer look at this natural disaster happening near our homes these last couple days.   Below are some pictures I have taken over the last couple days of this wild fire.

Sadly, this is not the only fire in California. Our state is literally on fire in many locations and our fire fighters are working endless hours to try to contain them all. I am asking that you join me in praying for the fire fighters and all the families affected by these California fires.   Pray for their safety.   With the intense heat in the 90’s and 100’s, these firefighters are suffering heat stroke.   Please pray for their health and for their families back at home as they are bravely fighting the fires.

Please pray for families who have to evacuate their homes. My sister was sharing with me how hard it was to look around her house and ask herself, “What should I take and what am I willing to leave and let burn?” The entire evacuation process has been very emotional for her and her family. Many other families, like my sister, have had to leave their homes due to these fires. I cannot even imagine how hard that would be.

Please join me in praying for everyone affected by these fires.

Dear God,  I pray for the firefighters who are risking their lives to try to contain these fires. I pray for their safety with the intense heat.  Give them energy and strength when they are tired and weary.  I pray for all the people who are affected by the fires: families that have had to evacuate and loved ones who have lost their homes and property due to the fire.  Give them your peace and comfort during these uncertain times. I pray that these fires can be contained quickly and again, for the safety of everyone involved.  In Jesus name, Amen.
