Bible Shoes
“Wow, you made the Bible come alive more in the 30 minutes you spoke than it ever has for me.”
I stood there in awe as I listened. A sweet sister in Christ approached me after my speaking engagement and shared these encouraging words.
Surprised, I thought back to my message. I had put myself in the shoes of someone in the Bible and shared about the emotions they were feeling. I was amazed how much it helped make the Bible come alive for this woman.
She continued to say, “If you do anything like a You Tube channel or anything like this, please let me know.”
And just like that, God birthed an idea in my heart.
Maybe I can do something like this on the podcast. Maybe I can have an episode once a month where I put myself in the shoes of someone in the Bible and talk through what they are feeling like I did at that speaking engagement.
Friend, let me introduce Bible Shoes:
A new series on the Depth Podcast where I pick one person in the Bible and put myself in their shoes. Together we will dive deeper by asking questions like what are they thinking? What are they feeling? How does this relate to us in present day?
First of all, let me say that this is totally out of my comfort zone, BUT I am excited to see how God will stretch me with each episode.
I am also so thankful for that brave woman who allowed God to use her in such a beautiful way. Her words were instrumental in the birthing of this new series.
Has God ever used you to speak truth over someone’s life? Or maybe you have been on the receiving end of wisdom from a friend or a complete stranger.
Today, I want to encourage you to listen to God’s nudges to encourage others as well as follow the promptings He puts on your heart to step out of your comfort zone and take a leap of faith.
You never know what God wants to do through you!
Love, Jodi
